Man Charged with Murder Successfully Extradited to Houston from El Salvador

Louis Armando Rojas Accused of Killing Ex-Girlfriend's Husband in 2011(Houston, TX) - Today, Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare announced another successful arrest and extradition of a U.S. citizen from abroad.

Louis Armando Rojas, 38, is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend's husband in West Harris County after a domestic dispute in 2011. Rojas was charged on Jan 1, 2012, with murder – a first-degree felony.

In 2017, law enforcement became aware that Rojas was promoting himself on YouTube as a Mixed Martial Arts fighter in El Salvador and subsequently filed a Red Notice through INTERPOL. On December 6, 2023, Rojas was arrested in El Salvador and the Government of El Salvador approved the extradition request in July 2025. He is now in Houston and in the custody of local law enforcement officials.

“I’m deeply thankful for the relentless efforts of our Fugitive Apprehension Unit, the Justice Department's Office of International Affairs, the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, and the Government of El Salvador in securing Rojas’ extradition and bringing him to justice,” said Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare. “This latest effort sends a clear message: we will stop at nothing to hold perpetrators accountable—especially when they have taken the life of an innocent person in our community.”

Rojas’s case will be heard in the 180th District Court.
