Overview

Are you a high school or college student interested in what it means to be a prosecutor? 

Our Summer Prosecution Experience offers a hands-on look at how Harris County prosecutors seek justice and serve the community. Participants will observe courtroom proceedings, hear from professionals across the criminal justice system, and practice foundational advocacy skills. Whether you're curious about a career in the courtroom or exploring public service, this program provides meaningful opportunities to learn, engage, and grow.

  • Observe real courtroom and prosecution activities
  • Build introductory advocacy and public speaking skills
  • Gain insight into the role of prosecutors in community safety and justice

  • Application deadline is February 1, 2027
  • Applications are reviewed as they are received; space is limited, so early submission is encouraged
  • Open to current high school and college students
  • Participation is contingent on passing a background check
