The Harris County District Attorney’s Office is committed to building trust, fostering collaboration, and strengthening relationships across our diverse community. Through our Advocacy, Engagement, and Government Relations efforts, we work to ensure that every voice is heard and every resident feels connected to the work of our office.
Together, these efforts reflect our office’s commitment to creating a justice system that is transparent, community-centered, and responsive to the evolving needs of Harris County. Through advocacy, engagement, and government relations, we are working every day to make our county safer, fairer, and stronger.
-
Advocacy: We advocate for fair and effective policies that protect victims, support second chances, and strengthen public safety. Our office works to elevate community voices in conversations about criminal justice reform and ensures that vulnerable populations have access to resources and support. By addressing root causes of crime we strive to create long-term solutions that reduce recidivism and promote equity.
- Engagement: True justice requires listening and responding to the needs of the community. We partner with neighborhood associations, schools, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and local leaders to create open lines of communication and to collaborate on solutions. Through events, forums, and outreach programs, we meet residents where they are, educating the public on crime prevention, raising awareness about victims’ rights, and building trust between law enforcement and the communities we serve.
- Government Relations: Public safety is a shared responsibility. Our office works closely with city, county, state, and federal partners to align resources and strategies that serve the best interests of Harris County residents. From shaping legislation to coordinating multi-agency initiatives, our government relations efforts ensure that justice is delivered effectively, efficiently, and with the highest level of accountability.
