Protective Orders

A Protective Order is a court order that guards you from someone who has been violent or threatened to be violent. They can be issued to any person who has been the victim of family violence, stalking, sexual assault, and/or trafficking, regardless of their citizenship or legal status. Victim Impact Statement

A Victim Impact Statement (VIS) helps the criminal justice system understand the emotional, physical, and financial effects of a crime on victims and their families. By submitting a VIS, you offer a unique perspective that ensures decision-makers, such as prosecutors, judges, and parole boards, hear directly from those most affected. If you have a pending case with the District Attorney's Office, you may complete a Victim Impact Statement by contacting the Victim Services Division.
